Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s latest track was all about Popatlal’s impending marriage with Madhubala. Finally, the Golden Crow Award winning reporter in the show had found someone who loved him back equally and it was time for the two to get married. Overjoyed Gokuldham Vasi were happy to contribute as much they could to see their Popatlal happily married.
But yet again the makers disappointed the entire fandom of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah as Popatlal’s marriage is cancelled as always. However, this time the reason is quite serious. The storyline shows that the two do not have any choice when Dr. Hathi reveals that Popatlal and Madhubala are Thalassemia minors. Hence due to medical complications, they are forced to call off their wedding but both Popatlal and Madhubala promise to each other to remain best friends always.
Fans were extremely disappointed with the turn of this storyline as they were expecting that finally, the makers were going to show Popatlal married. Speaking about the same producer Asit Kumarr Modi said that the episode was intended to create awareness about this medical condition among the TMKOC fans.
Speaking to a leading media portal, Modi said, “I understand that the audience is disappointed that Popatlal did not get married. But I would like to ask them to look at the bigger picture. Through this episode, we aimed to deliver a strong message to society. I believe that conveying the message of Thalassemia was more important than Popatlal’s wedding. His marriage can happen in another episode but this crucial message about Thalassemia needs to be shared.”
The producer thinks that in India there is a large section of the society that is not aware of this medical condition which is why they decided to use TMKOC’s popularity to promote this message.
