It has been more than three years since Disya Vakani left Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and the audience has now almost got used to the absence of their favourite character Dayaben. While even now fans demand for her return from time to time, her absence has not affected the TRP of the hit comedy show. Jethalal and Bapuji’s characters also are a big hit with the audience and so are the comedy sequences between Jethalal and Mehta saab.
But now, it seems Bhide and Madhavi have taken over Jethalal and Daya as the lead couple of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Of late, more episodes are focused on these two. Albeit there is an involvement of Jethalal and other characters from Gokuldham in the story, the content is focused on Madhavi and Jethalal.
One reason for this can be because the audience loves the chemistry between Mandar Chandwadkar and Sonalika Joshi who play Bhide and Madhavi, respectively.
And the proof is the recently released YouTube list of the most popular short clips in India. According to the India-centric list, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s episode wherein Bhide tries to jump from his balcony has gained 10th spot in the top 10 short clip list which is dominated by big YouTubers like TVF and CarryMinati. It indicates that TMKOC is extremely popular and that its clips and episodes are watched repeatedly by viewers. The show has completed more than 3300 episodes and continues to grab a spot week after week in the top 10 of the TRP list.
But more importantly, it also proves that fans love to see Bhide and Madhavi equally as they love to watch Jethalal and Dayaben together. That can be one reason why even the current track is focused on Bhide and Madhavi. Bhide has burnt the saree of Madhavi while ironing it and now he is in dilemma as to how he can save himself from the wrath of Madhavi because it’s a gift from her brother.
So, yet again the focus is on Madhavi and Bhide in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
