Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney could soon be making her Bollywood debut, with reports suggesting she has been approached for one of India’s most ambitious and expensive productions. The deal, if finalised, would see the ‘Euphoria’ and ‘The White Lotus’ actor pocket a staggering paycheck exceeding Rs 500 crore.
According to The Sun, the proposal includes a fee of around £35 million (Rs 415 crore) along with an additional £10 million (Rs 115 crore) through sponsorships and endorsements, bringing the total package close to £45 million.
Producers are said to be banking on Sweeney’s international popularity to help the film break into global markets.
The story reportedly revolves around a young American star who falls in love with a famous Indian celebrity. Filming is expected to begin in early 2026, with locations lined up in New York, Paris, London, and Dubai.
A source quoted in the report said: “Sydney was stunned by the amount offered — £45 million is extraordinary. But beyond the money, the concept is interesting and could take her global profile to the next level. Bollywood is a booming industry, and this project is designed to put Indian films firmly on the international stage.”
The insider added that while Sweeney is carefully considering the offer, she has several other projects already lined up: “Money isn’t everything. She wants roles that challenge her as an actress, and this one certainly has that potential.”
Sweeney has been on a career high, earning praise for her performances in Euphoria and The White Lotus.
She will next be seen in Christy, portraying American boxer Christy Martin, the first female fighter to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
The biopic, co-starring Ben Foster and Merritt Wever, is scheduled for release on November 7.
