The Supreme Court on Monday permitted Ranveer Allahbadia, the popular podcaster, to continue airing his show, The Ranveer Show, on the condition that it maintains "morality and decency." Allahbadia is also required to submit an undertaking that the content of the show is suitable for all ages.
The apex court also extended Allahbadia’s interim protection from arrest until further orders, allowing him time to join the ongoing investigation in Guwahati related to the controversy over his remarks.
Allahbadia’s lawyer, senior advocate Abhinav Chandrachud, argued that the podcast was his only livelihood and supported over 280 employees.

The court cautioned Allahbadia against discussing the case on his show, and restrained him from making any further comments related to the ongoing investigation.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the Centre and states like Maharashtra, Assam, and Odisha, criticized Allahbadia's comments on India's Got Latent, calling them vulgar and perverse.
He urged the court to maintain restrictions on the airing of the show, stating that Allahbadia should "remain silent for some time."
Justice Surya Kant reminded Allahbadia’s lawyer that fundamental rights come with restrictions and should not be taken lightly, emphasizing that the court knows how to handle the matter.
He referenced an accused that fled to Canada, highlighting the seriousness of the issue.
Regulatory Mechanism for Social Media Content
The court directed the Centre to draft a regulatory framework for social media content and publish it for public feedback and suggestions from all stakeholders.
The bench refused Allahbadia's request to travel abroad, stating that the issue would be reconsidered once he joins the investigation in the case.

Background of Controversy
Several FIRs were filed against Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, for his controversial remarks about parents and sex on the India's Got Latent show hosted by comedian Samay Raina.
The Supreme Court had previously called his comments "vulgar" and stated they were "shameful" to society.
"Such behaviour has to be condemned. Just because you are popular, you cannot take society for granted. Is there anyone on earth who would like this language? There is something very dirty in his mind which has been vomited. Why should we protect him," the court said, according to Bar and Bench.
