Superstar Singer 2: Pawandeep Rajan gives big shock to Salman Ali, other judges

Superstar Singer 2 kicked off yesterday presenting some of the most talented young singers from India. All the captains including Indian Idol 12’s Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Sayli Kamble, and Danish Mohammad, and Indian Idol 10 winner Salman Ali introduced their candidates on the show while judges Javed Ali, Alka Yagnik, and Himesh Reshammiya welcomed the most talented ones.

In season 1 of Superstar Singer, Salman Ali was one of the captains and there was a singer Soyab who challenged him repeatedly on the show. Young Soyab kept on saying every time he came to sing on the stage that he will prove that he is better than Salman Ali. He could not win the title in the first season but still managed to make a strong impression with his talent.

Shockingly, three years later, Soyab has once again returned to the stage of Superstar Singer 2 and he just seemed unrecognizable. An older Soyab with glasses and a different hairstyle kept the judges and Salman Ali guessing when he made an entry. It was Captain Pawandeep Rajan who introduced him to everyone as his contestant in the competition.

While Salman and the judges were shocked to see this transformed look of Soyab, the boy surprised them more with his improved singing. The look and singing of Soyab have certainly improved and are different from his performances in Superstar Singer Season 1. But one thing that continues to be common is his wish to defeat Salman Ali. And that was quite clear when Soyab said during the first episode of Superstar Singer 2 that he wants to clinch the chair of the captainship from Salman Ali.

Incidentally, Soyab belongs to Mewat which is also the hometown of Salman Ali. Now, he is learning from the guru of the Indian Idol 10 winner and said that he will definitely prove himself superior to Salman this season.
