Veteran actor Sunny Deol is set to bring his signature action-packed charisma to the big screen once again, this time teaming up with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment. According to sources, Deol has given his nod to a large-scale, high-concept action thriller that is expected to go on floors in December 2025.
This will mark Deol’s first collaboration with the powerhouse production banner.
“Sunny loved the script and has been in discussions with Excel for quite some time. Both parties are eager to work together on a grand action spectacle that aligns with the actor’s on-screen legacy,” a source close to the project revealed.
Introducing a New Directorial Talent
Adding to the excitement, the film will be the directorial debut of Balaji, who brings experience from several Tamil blockbusters, having previously worked as an assistant and associate director.
“It’s a larger-than-life film designed to showcase Deol in a role that fans have long admired – intense, dramatic, and action-heavy. Excel is going all out to make sure this first collaboration is a cinematic treat,” the source added.
Deol’s Power-Packed Line-Up
This action thriller is one of several major projects in Sunny Deol’s pipeline. The actor will also be seen in Border 2, a much-awaited war drama slated for release on 3 January 2026. The film features an ensemble cast including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.
Additionally, Deol will portray Lord Hanuman in Ramayana: Part 1, which is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release promising an epic year ahead for the action star.
