Now, ace South filmmaker SS Rajamouli is preparing to raise the bar even higher with his highly anticipated project SSMB29.
Kenya Chosen as the Heart of the Story!
The celebrated filmmaker recently finalised Kenya as the key location for SSMB29 after an extensive scouting tour across East Africa. During a meeting with SS Rajamouli, Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs praised the director’s global impact and vision.
On X, the minister wrote, “Kenya this past fortnight became the stage for one of the world’s greatest filmmakers, @ssrajamouli, the visionary Indian director, screenwriter, and storyteller whose works have captured the imagination of audiences across continents."
He further highlighted that Rajamouli’s 120-member crew will shoot nearly 95% of the African sequences in Kenya, capturing breathtaking landscapes from Masai Mara and Naivasha to Samburu and Amboseli.
A Release Spanning 120 Nations
Sharing more about the film’s scale, the Kenyan minister revealed that SSMB29 is set for release in over 120 countries. Further, the post read, "From the sweeping plains of the Masai Mara to the scenic Naivasha, the rugged Samburu, and the iconic Amboseli, Kenya’s landscapes are now etched into what is set to become the largest film production in Asia. Scheduled for release in over 120 countries, the movie is expected to reach more than a billion viewers worldwide."
