Every actor dreams of delivering a blockbuster flick with his/her debut. However, such dreams of only a few actors get fulfilled and Srinidhi Shetty is among such actors. The Indian actress and model made her debut in 2018 with Kannada movie KGF: Chapter 1 opposite Rocking Star Yash. Next, she reprised her role as Reena Desia in the second instalment of the franchise KGF: Chapter 2. Both the instalments of KGF became blockbusters and also scripted history by becoming the top-grossing Kannada film of all time. KGF 2 still remains the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2022 and the fourth-highest-grossing Indian film.
Such kind of success is indeed a dream debut for any actress. Even it was speculated that Srinidhi Shetty will get flooded with offers from all regional film industries in the South as well as Bollywood. Moreover, fans speculated that the actress would reach new heights and quickly get counted among the top-ranking actresses. After KGF 2's monstrous success, Srinidhi immediately made her Tamil debut with Chiyan Vikram's Cobra. However, the flick bombed at the box office.
After Cobra, she was reportedly doing a film with Siddhu Jonnalagadda titled Telusu Kada, where she was supposed to play a secondary role to Raashii Khanna, but there have been no updates about the same.
Undoubtedly, fans are eagerly waiting to see Yash as well as Srinidhi's next. While Yash is busy with Toxic: A Fairytale For Grownups and Ramayana, there are no updates on Srinidhi.
Srinidhi Shetty Lost! Prashanth Neel Responsible?
Well, certain reports blamed KGF and Salaar helmer Prashanth Neel for the same. A report stated that Neel struggles with heroine characterisation and execution. While Neel showcased Reena as a silly girl, Shruti Haasan was portrayed the same way in Salaar. Because of poor writing and execution, the lady leads of Neel's films fail to impact the audience. Citing poor characterisation of female leads by Neel, the report blamed the filmmaker as the reason for Srinidhi being 'lost'. Moreover, the report also stated that the KGF actress doubled her remuneration for Cobra after the glorious success of KGF 1 and 2.

What's The Truth?
However, a recent report claims that Srinidhi has been selective about her film choices. After the debacle of Cobra, she has been waiting for the right opportunities to showcase her talent. She has been very cautious about her roles in the films offered to her. While reports are abuzz about her Telugu debut, she reportedly turned down an offer to star in Saindhav, directed by Sailesh Kolanu. As per the recent buzz in the industry, Srinidhi might be seen in the director's upcoming HIT3, part of the successful HIT franchise.
Moreover, Srinidhi has reportedly signed on for Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s Telusu Kadha, which also marks the debut of Neeraja Kona as a director.
Challenging and meaningful roles only...
Undoubtedly, Srinidhi's strategy of being selective with her roles after KGF reflects her interest in taking on challenging and meaningful roles which would further enhance her acting prowess.
However, fans certainly miss the actress onscreen. Hopefully, the long wait will come to an end soon after the makers of her projects make an official announcement. Till then fans need to wait with patience.
