Sreeleela, one of the most sought-after actresses in the South Indian film industry, is making her Bollywood debut with the upcoming film ‘Mitti’ alongside Sidharth Malhotra. Known for her outstanding performances in films like ‘Skanda’, ‘Dhamaka’, and ‘By Two Love’, Sreeleela has quickly garnered a massive fan base and widespread recognition.
According to a Pinkvilla report, Sreeleela has been cast as Mitti’s lead actress, with shooting scheduled to begin in October. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the same by the makers.
According to a source quoted by Pinkvilla, Sreeleela immediately accepted the role after reading the script. “It’s a strong author-backed role for Sreeleela, something she had been looking for. She is thrilled to collaborate with Sid and start her journey in the Hindi Film Industry,” the source revealed.
The film is expected to go on floors by October 2024, with a start-to-finish schedule in North India. The pre-production is reportedly in full swing as the team prepares for the winter shoot.
‘Mitti’, directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua, is described as a rooted action-family drama that delves into themes of guilt, family, and the significance of one’s homeland. Janjua, while not revealing much, has confirmed that the film is set in Uttarakhand and explores the intense side of Sidharth's character.
