The sudden demise of actor and reality TV personality Shefali Jariwala has left the entertainment industry in mourning. The 42-year-old collapsed at her Andheri home on Friday night and was declared dead on arrival at Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital. According to preliminary medical observations, a sudden drop in blood pressure is suspected to have caused her untimely death.
As per Mumbai Police, Jariwala had been observing a fast for a Satyanarayan pooja at her residence. Her husband, television actor Parag Tyagi, told police that she collapsed after consuming food prepared the previous day. She was rushed to the hospital, but it was too late.
Her body was later shifted to R N Cooper Hospital in Juhu for post-mortem. While the cause of death is not yet officially confirmed, Cooper doctors suspect cardiac complications brought on by hypotension.
Health Supplements Found, No Foul Play Suspected
During a panchnama at their home, police found boxes of anti-ageing pills, vitamin tablets, and skin supplements. However, no toxic substances were immediately flagged. The police have recorded statements from Tyagi and other family members and registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR). Investigators have ruled out any foul play at this stage.
A Final, Eerie Social Media Memory
In a poignant twist, Shefali’s last Twitter post was with late actor Sidharth Shukla, who also died of a sudden cardiac arrest in 2021. In the post, she added, "Thinking of you today mere dost @sidharth_shukla."
