Shahid Kapoor's Farzi and The Family Man connection hints at spy universe

A few scenes in Shahid Kapoor's Farzi have triggered speculations that the web series is a part of the spy universe which also includes The Family Man.

Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi’s Farzi recently released on OTT is receiving lots of love and appreciation for the acting of the leading stars as well as for its dark and intense direction and storyline. Incidentally, the web series has been directed by The Family Man director duo Raj and DK and has a stellar supporting star cast including veteran actor Amol Palekar, Rashii Khanna, and Kay Kay Menon.

Interestingly, viewers have found a connection between Farzi and The Family Man. One of the cross-over moments as pointed out by fans on social media is about the presence of Chellam Sir portrayed by Udhayabhanu Maheshwaran in The Family Man. Chellam Sir is a mysterious character in the earlier hit web series and his appearance in Farzi made fans speculate that the directors are planning a cross-over between Farzi and The Family Man.

Many fans have even speculated on social media that both these series seem to be set in the same universe and that the famous director team is planning a spy universe.

The hidden entry of Srikant Tiwari played by Manoj Bajpayee also seems to convince the fans that indeed such a crossover is going to happen. In one of the scenes in Farzi Michael played by Sethupathi seems to be talking with Tiwari. Even though Manoj Bajpayee does not make a direct entry in Farzi, viewers are convinced that the voice talking at the other end of the phone with Michael is that of Bajpayee.

In Farzi, Shahid Kapoor portrays the character of a con artist Sunny who is an expert at designing fake currency notes whereas Sethupathi plays the role of a Special Task Force officer Michael who is trying to catch the culprits.
