Shahid Kapoor is all set to light up the big screen once again with his upcoming action thriller, officially titled Romeo. the film helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala marks Shahid’s fourth collaboration with the acclaimed director after Kaminey, Haider, and Rangoon.

The movie, which was earlier rumored to be titled Arjun Ustara or Evil, features a stellar ensemble cast including Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Randeep Hooda, Vikrant Massey, and Farida Jalal. Disha Patani will also be seen in a special dance number alongside Shahid.

Romeo: A Gangster Tale for Today’s Audience

According to Pinkvilla, Romeo is described as a high-octane, commercial potboiler tailored for the post-pandemic audience. “The title Romeo reflects Shahid’s character perfectly, a gangster with a colorful, intense life. The makers wanted a name that resonates with his persona.” Shahid is reportedly thrilled about his role, promising a performance like never before.

Triptii Dimri plays the leading lady, while details about the other characters remain under wraps. The film is currently in its final stages of shooting.

A Big December Clash Looms

Scheduled for release on December 5, 2025, Romeo will face stiff competition at the box office, clashing with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar and Prabhas’ The Raja Saab. Despite the showdown, the makers are confident about their film’s appeal and have no plans to shift the release date.

What’s Next for Shahid Kapoor?

After wrapping Romeo, Shahid is set to return to his rom-com roots with Cocktail 2, co-starring Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna.
