Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is dubbed the 'King of Romance.' SRK's on-screen chemistry with his co-actresses, his style of romance, his emotions and his signature pose of spreading out his arms, has become a symbol of romance. Though initially he marked his presence with his anti-hero characters, soon he established himself as a romantic hero. With time, he showcased his versatility. In the last few years, SRK has also successfully established himself as an action hero, with the latest being Pathaan and Jawan. However, would you believe that romantic movies are his least favourite? What if SRK himself says this!

During a chat with Variety, SRK admitted that he loves watching Tom Cruise movies and felt he had not done an out-and-out action movie before Pathaan and Jawan. So, he wanted to do those.

Further, he mentioned that he's not limited to any genre.

"I'm not limited to a genre as a viewer. I like to see action films. Strangely, my least favourite is romantic films. I like science-fiction movies, dystopian world films, offbeat, human drama films. I love courtroom dramas. I love thrillers. I sometimes like horror films. I just felt a couple of years when I wasn't just working, that I haven't done an out-and-out action film."

Further, he stated, "I like Tom Cruise films."

Talking about his romantic hero image, the Dunki actor said, "I have a dream. I want to have a room with pictures where, and this is not a narcissist thing, if I look at my work, every film should feel a genre that I have grown up watching. I'm not limited to a genre as a viewer. I like to see action films. Strangely, my least favourite is romantic films."

Fondly, SRK is called the King of Romance but the actor expressed his surprise over his romantic hero tag.

"As much as I love it, I'm surprised by the term of being a romantic hero. I've never thought of myself as that to be honest."

Of course, the journey of getting the 'romantic hero' tag started with Aditya Chopra's Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

During the interview, SRK stated, "The other day, I was sitting with Aditya Chopra, who kind of started this process with DDLJ. He said, 'If we count, you have done five or six romantic films, which are considered classic, sweeping romantic films- DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil To Pagal Hai, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.'"

Well, throughout his acting journey spanning over three decades, Shah Rukh Khan has portrayed various characters in movies of different genres. He has proven his versatility. However, it is certainly surprising to learn that romantic films are the least favourite of the King of Romance. Though SRK has already revealed it earlier, from the latest statements it seems, the audience may not get to see more of SRK in a romantic avatar as the Jawan actor is all set to do more actions.
