Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan is all set to make his much-anticipated debut at the Met Gala 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious fashion events.

The star's arrival in New York has already set social media abuzz, with fans sharing photos and videos of the actor at John F. Kennedy International Airport ahead of the grand event scheduled for May 5 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Spotted in New York

The 'Badshah of Bollywood' was warmly welcomed by fans upon landing in New York. Images shared by his fan club ‘Team Shah Rukh Khan Srinagar’ captured the superstar greeting admirers with smiles, handshakes, and hugs. Dressed casually in a white tee, grey hooded jacket, and loose cargo jeans, he looked effortlessly stylish. His manager, Pooja Dadlani, was also seen accompanying him.

One video, now viral, shows Shah Rukh being escorted by a US customs official while he interacts briefly with fans. Before leaving the airport, he waved at fans and quickly got into his car, leaving behind a trail of excitement.

Speculation and Style

Though there is no official confirmation yet from Shah Rukh Khan or his team, speculation around his Met Gala debut gained momentum after Pooja Dadlani liked a post hinting at his attendance. Fashion page Diet Sabya further fueled the buzz, teasing a collaboration between a "Bollywood icon" and an iconic Indian designer.
Reports suggest that Shah Rukh Khan will wear a bespoke outfit designed by Sabyasachi, adding another layer of anticipation for fans eager to see what the superstar will bring to the global fashion stage.

Theme and Indian Representation

Met Gala 2025 will explore the theme "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," inspired by Monica L. Miller's book Slaves to Fashion. The exhibition will highlight Black Dandyism and its influence on style through garments, art, and photography. Shah Rukh Khan isn’t the only Indian star expected at the event. Kiara Advani, currently in New York, is set to walk the red carpet in a custom Gaurav Gupta couture, while Diljit Dosanjh is also making his debut.
