2016's Hindi romantic-tragic saga Sanam Teri Kasam, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, has been scripting history with its re-release in theatres on February 7, 2025. Continuing its glorious box office run, Sanam Teri Kasam has scored the biggest weekend for a Bollywood re-release. Despite the clashes with new releases like Loveyapa and Badass Ravi Kumar, the box office collection refuses to slow down. Adding to the excitement, directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru recently confirmed that the script for Sanam Teri Kasam sequel is ready and the makers have planned to release it in 2026.
Sanam Teri Kasam 2 Next Year!
During a recent conversation with India Forums, director-duo Radhika and Vinay revealed that Sanam Teri Kasam is already prepared and they have a clear vision of where Inder's (Harshvardhan) journey will lead next.

The filmmakers said, "Toh humare paas second part ready hai, aur we are absolutely sure ke Inder ki kahani kahan ja rahi hai iske baad. That’s why, in the end, when Inder stands near the tree and Suru’s voice echoes, it’s a subtle hint for what’s to come in part 2."
Further, they added, Toh ab toh itna ho gaya hai ki part two agle Valentine pe toh laana hi padhega, because iss Valentine pe everyone saw part 1. In fact, even the songs are nearly complete."
Notably, the makers made an official announcement about Sanam Teri Kasam 2 on September 10, 2024.
It seems the overwhelming response to Sanam Teri Kasam upon its re-release has inspired the filmmakers to invest more efforts in the sequel and treat the moviegoers with another romantic-tragic saga along with some melodious and memorable songs.
Earlier, producer Deepak Mukut was quoted as saying, We have locked an exceptional story for Sanam Teri Kasam 2 with Harshvardhan Rane returning as the lead. Soham Rockstar Entertainment is dedicated to creating a sequel that will resonate deeply with fans".

Sanam Teri Kasam Re-release and Its Impact
Sanam Teri Kasam was initially a box office disaster and its lifetime collection was Rs 9.11 crore. However, the re-release has proven to be a hit in its first weekend itself. Made at a budget of Rs 14 crore, the film's opening weekend collection (re-release) stands at approximately Rs 15.50 crore (net). Surprisingly, it has posed tough competition to Loveyapa and Badass Ravi Kumar, earning more than the combined total. The audience response to Sanam Teri Kasam is evident from the viral videos on social media.
