The stunning Samantha Ruth Prabhu once again spoke about her autoimmune condition Myositis and revealed that she was forced to announce it publicly on media. She further added that it was one of the most difficult phases of her life.
Speaking to India Today, Samantha revealed that it was during the release of her highly expected movie ‘Yashoda’ when she was diagnosed with the disorder.
“It was a female-centric film. I was very sic back then. It was hard. The producers needed me to promote the film, otherwise it would just die. So, I agreed to do one interview. I used to take high doses of medication to look stable. I was forced to. Given a choice, I wouldn’t have come out and announced it,” Samantha stated.
She continued, “They called me sympathy queen. But, I have evolved both as an actor and most importantly as a human. Early on in my career, I would get anxious and look for nasty articles and what were being written about me. Now, I don’t get anxious. When people are going through a lot of pain, they need a portal to project it. And social media is that portal I guess. I do really think that.”
She also revealed that she could not enjoy some of the biggest highs of her career due to the disorder.
On the work front, Samantha was last seen in Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Kushi’. Now, she is gearing up for the release of the Indian adaptation of the action series Citadel opposite Varun Dhawan. It is being created by Raj & DK.
