Rajshri Productions and Sooraj Barjatya crafted Salman Khan’s iconic ‘Prem’ persona with his first blockbuster, Maine Pyar Kiya. While Salman is now known as an action hero, fans still cherish his lover-boy image. Earlier in January this year, Barjatya revealed plans for a new, mature Prem with an age-appropriate love story, exciting Bhaijaan’s fans. Recently, he shared a major update on the project.

'Thoda waqt hai...'
During an interview with India Today, filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya said that he is working on a film with Salman Khan. However, Barjatya revealed that it will take some time. He said, "Thoda waqt hai."
Further, he added, “We are working on the story of the film with Salman Bhai. But we will also have to have an age-appropriate script for the same.”
Well, this confirmation will rekindle the hope among fans who are eagerly waiting to see Bhaijaan as Prem.

During the earlier interview with Hindustan Times, Barjatya revealed that he is creating a new Prem but with the same fun, masti and family values.
Barjatya revealed that the film is on the cards but will take more time, as it aims to create a new Prem character suited to Salman Khan’s current age. This fresh version will retain the fun, masti, and family values of the original while bringing a higher level of maturity, a creative experiment requiring extra time to perfect.
"You cannot expect him to do the same thing that we have been doing till now," Barjatya was quoted as saying.

Salman Khan as Sooraj Barjatya's Prem
Salman Khan’s portrayal of Prem has been adored by fans in films like Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994), and Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999). His last outing with Barjatya was Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015), where he played dual roles opposite Sonam Kapoor. Even today, his massive fan base longs to see him in that beloved avatar once again.
