Prithviraj Sukumaran, currently preparing for the release of ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,’ revealed significant details regarding Prashanth Neel's ‘Salaar: Part II,’ featuring Prabhas in a pivotal role.
Prithviraj, portraying an antagonist in ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,’ disclosed that filming for the sequel is set to commence shortly.
Speaking to Variety, he praised director Prashanth's efficient shooting plan and expressed his commitment to balancing filming for ‘Salaar 2’ with his other project, ‘Empuraan.’
“I will take time off between ‘Empuraan’ to go and finish a few sequences of ‘Salaar 2,’ but I am assuming definitely in 2025 it is releasing for sure. But when and how it’s up to Prashanth and (producers) Hombale Films,” Sukumaran added.
In a recent interview with News18 Showsha, Prithviraj recounted initially considering declining the script for ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ due to scheduling conflicts. However, it was Prashanth who pursued him to do the Ali Abbas Zafar-directed film.
“While shooting for the climax of Salaar, I was talking to Prashanth about this nice and wonderful script that Ali Abbas Zafar narrated to me. I told him that I’ve been offered a role in the film but I won’t be able to do it because of date issues,” he recalled.
What followed next was Prashanth’s constant insistence that finally nudged him to rethink his decision. “I spoke to Prashanth for about 20 minutes about the film and the script. That’s when he told me that it really looks like I want to do it. He said, ‘Knowing you, if you really let it go, you’ll feel rotten.’ And he was absolutely right. If I wasn’t a part of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, I would’ve been kicking myself after watching it,” he told us.
On the work front, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Malayalam-language “Aadujeevitham” (“The Goat Life“), directed by Blessy has hit the screens and has emerged as a hit. It has become the sixth highest-grossing Malayalam-language film of all time.
Based on Benyamin’s bestselling 2008 novel of the same name, tells the true story of Najeeb, an immigrant labourer from Kerala forced into slavery on a remote goat farm in a Middle Eastern country.
