One of the most popular and pioneering web series in India, Sacred Games season 3 has been shelved, revealed its director Anurag Kashyap. Anurag, who co-directed the first two seasons of the show alongside Vikramaditya Motwane and Neeraj Ghaywan respectively.
In an interview, Kashyap said the streaming platform Netflix has shut it down. Appearing on Mashable India’s The Bombay Journey YouTube series, he talked about what happened to Sacred Games season 3 in length and said Netflix would know about it.
He said, “Vikram Motwane was driving Sacred Games. Ten days before I was supposed to go shoot Mukkabaaz, he asked me to come on board. I told him I was always interested, but they had a problem with me. Some local people had told them that I didn’t have a female audience. It was my zone, and they eventually came around… A season three was supposed to come out, but they shut it down, Netflix would know why.”
He also added that he is not working for digital platforms right now as they are all scared since the controversies around Ali Abbas Zafar's 2021 web show Tandav.
Meanwhile, fans are eagerly waiting for the release of The Family Man 3 and Mirzapur season 3.
Mirzapur season 3: Know what we know so far
Popular Indian web series, which is loved and adored by fans, is gearing up for the release of its third season soon on Amazon Prime Media. The makers have finished the shooting for the third season. Actor Ali Fazal who plays Guddu in the crime drama has confirmed that the shooting has been wrapped up.
According to reports, the series’ released date will be announced soon after the post-productions works are completed. We can expect to return to the city of Mirzapur soon.
The Family Man 3
After two successful seasons, The Family Man will return for another season, confirmed its creators Raj & DK. However, they are currently working on the script and will begin to shoot with the lead cast after finalizing it.
Season two of the spy thriller wrapped up on a cliffhanger where a young man heads into a dark apartment, switches on his computer, and types into a chat room: “The country is distracted”. This is the ‘go’ for Project Guan Yu, to carry out which “phoenixes” have been installed in Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
Going by this, it is most likely that all the action in the third season will take place in northeast India.
