It was the year 2002 when the horror film ‘Raaz’ was released in theatres. Till then, nobody would have thought a horror film would become the year’s third highest-grossing film. The romantic drama horror film ‘Raaz’ proved to be a blockbuster at the box office and even today it is remembered for its chartbuster songs.
All the songs from the movie like ‘Jo Bhi Kasmein’, ‘Itna Main Chahoon’, and ‘Tum Agar Samne’ were major hits and are still being played in discos, clubs, and parties. However, the song ‘Aapke Pyaar Mein’ from the movie with Dino Morea and the gorgeous Malini Sharma created history.
Actress Malini Sharma’s hotness coupled with steamy scenes added to the craze of the song. Malini who was seen as a ‘ghost’ in the film won everyone’s hearts with her striking performance. She was one of the major factors for the success of the film.
Despite the humongous success of ‘Raaz’, Malini chose to stay away from the limelight. She was one of the top models of her time and has also worked in many hit music videos such as ‘Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag, ‘Kya Soorat Hai’, ‘Ranjhar’ and ‘Kitni Akeli’.
However, Malini’s personal life was full of pain. She was married to actor-model Priyanshu Chatterjee of ‘Tum Bin’ fame. Sadly, her marriage lasted only for three years with the couple's divorce in 2001, leaving Malini heartbroken.
After ‘Raaz’, she had signed for ‘Gunaah’ opposite Dino Morea but opted out just two days before the shooting of the movie. Due to more personal reasons, she slowly drifted away from the entertainment industry and is now nowhere to be seen.
While the gorgeous Malini will always reign over millions of hearts with ‘Aapke Pyaar Mein’, fans wish she could make her comeback soon.
