Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Stree 2’ has been breaking box-office records with its dream run. The makers of the ‘Stree’ franchise have confirmed that the script for the third instalment is already in progress. Following the massive success of 'Stree 2’, actors Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana have shared exciting details about ‘Stree 3’ and its anticipated release date.
Abhishek Banerjee, who portrays the character Janaa in the franchise, recently spoke with The Indian Express, revealing updates about ‘Stree 3’.
He described the film as a "big epic saga" and assured fans that they wouldn’t have to wait long for its release. Reflecting on the gap between ‘Stree’ and ‘Stree 2’, which took six years to materialize,
Banerjee stated, "It will take time, but it won’t be as long as the wait for ‘Stree 2’. Some parts of the script are already written, and as an actor, I’m eager to get back on set."
Aparshakti Khurana, who plays Bittu in the franchise, echoed Banerjee's excitement. He noted that ‘Stree 3’ was already in the planning stages before ‘Stree 2’ was even released. Now, they await further details from producer Dinesh Vijan and director Amar Kaushik, who has helmed both the previous films.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that ‘Stree 3’ will feature a larger ensemble cast, with Akshay Kumar rumoured to play the supervillain. Tamannah Bhatia, Rashmika Mandanna, and Ayushmann Khurrana are also expected to join the horror-comedy universe created by Maddock Films. While Bhatia made a cameo in ‘Stree 2’, Mandanna's role in the franchise is yet to be confirmed.
