Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is one of the much-awaited movies. Fans are eagerly waiting to see Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol and Yash as Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Lord Hanuman and Demon King Ravana. After confirming, Yash opened up about being a part of Ramayana which elevatedthe excitement among many. Now, Ranbir for the first time opened up about essaying Lord Ram's character in the cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic. But, the actor got trolled by netizens.
Since the announcement of Ramayana and Ranbir being roped in as Lord Ram, the internet has been abuzz with various speculations. Later, Ranbir and Sai's leaked pictures from the sets of Ramayana further fuelled the excitement. But, RK never talked about the movie. Meanwhile, he and Sai are surrounded by various controversies. Even a section of netizens trolled the duo multiple times and demanded to remove them from the movie.

Now, after Ranbir for the first time opened up about Ramayana, a section of netizens again trolled the Barfi actor.
Recently, on December 8, at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Ranbir spilled the beans about his upcoming flick.
At the event, Ranbir revealed that it was his dream to essay Lord Ram's character. A short clip from the event has stormed the internet in which Ranbir is seen revealing many things about Ramayana. In the clip, he reveals that the movie is being made in two parts and he has already wrapped up Ramayana: Part 1.
Ranbir said, "Just to be part of that story... I’m so humbled, to be playing, essaying Ram’s role. You know, it’s a dream for anyone and especially for me. And it’s a film that has everything. It teaches what Indian culture is about, it teaches you good versus evil, family dynamics or husband-wife dynamics. So I’m very, very excited about that.”
Well, this statement by Ranbir triggered a section of netizens and they went on to troll the actor.
One user commented, "And it has begun, 'The PR whitewashing.'" (sic)
Another user wrote, "Lol 'family dynamics and husband-wife dynamics'. It's kinda funny to hear Ranbir say these things. And he talks about it like it's an alien concept lol.” (sic)
Meanwhile, a third user wrote, "truth bomb. 100 chuhe(rats) khake billi Haj ko chali." (sic)

For the unversed, earlier, a section of netizens expressed their anger over the casting of Ramayana. Even Ranbir got brutally trolled after an old video of the actor circulated on social media in which he said, 'I'm a big beef guy'.
However, amid the trolls, reports surfaced that Ranbir will abstain completely from drinking alcohol and eating meat while shooting for Ramayana as he 'wants to feel pure and clean as Shri Ram'.
While Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled for theatrical release on Diwali 2026, no major update has been shared by the makers.
