Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt paired up for the first time in Brahmastra: Part One- Shiva which went on to script new records at the box office. Fans are well aware that the couple will reprise their role in Brahmastra: Part Two- Dev. Fans of the duo will certainly love to see the couple together onscreen in other projects.
As it seems, movie lovers will once again get to see the duo in ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next.
Bhansali is known as one of the most promising directors of the Indian film industry. After Gangubai Kathiawadi, his most-talked musical revenge drama ‘Baiju Bawra’ is in the pipeline. Bhansali roped in Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt to play the leads. However, the journey of the project has been full of ups and downs.
He was in talks with Deepika Padukone to play the dacoit but it didn’t work out. Later, reports were abuzz that the filmmaker was in talks with Kiara Advani and Nayanthara for playing the character. However, before locking his cast, he got the shock of his life as the subject of the movie didn’t get approval from the studios for its high budget.
Now, the latest report suggests that Bhansali has put the project on hold for now and is planning for a multi-starrer project.
As per a recent report in ETimes, Bhansali has put Baiju Bawra on hold and is planning for a multi-starrer which will likely see the return of younger but big stars.
A source was quoted in the report as saying that actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are in the running. Even more actors are expected to join the cast of the movie.
It is expected that after completing his magnum opus web series ‘Heeramandi’ he is currently working on, Bhansali will start working on this project.
While Ranbir Kapoor stepped into the industry with Bhansali’s Saawariya, Alia Bhatt got heaped with praises from different quarters for her impeccable performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Even the actress bagged a National Award as the Best Actress. All thanks to the iconic director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Certainly, expectations of movie lovers will skyrocket after Bhansali officially announces roping in Ranbir and Alia for his next.
Apart from the new project and Baiju Bawra, Bhansali also plans to revive Inshallah. As per reports, instead of Salman Khan, Bhansali will go with Shah Rukh Khan marking his entry into the realm of contemporary cinema. Hopes must be high as the director will venture into the light-hearted genre of romantic comedy. While Bhansali has been engaged with SRK over the past few months and delved into a storyline and character that would seamlessly align with King Khan’s persona, an official announcement on his involvement is yet to be made.
