The initial glimpses of Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming magnum opus Ramayana have sparked excitement among fans. While Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey and Sai Pallavi will be playing key roles, several other popular actors will be seen in supporting roles. Among several rumoured names, Bobby Deol was speculated to star as Demon King Ravana's younger brother, Kumbhakaran. The initial buzz of Bobby's reunion with his Animal co-star Ranbir had excited fans. However, a recent report reveals a different picture.
Bobby Deol Not A Part of Ramayana?
According to the latest report by Bollywood Hungama, Bobby Deol is not a part of Ramayana.
A close source to the development revealed to the portal, "The reports are inaccurate. His name just cropped up all of a sudden."
Further, the source emphasised the need to distinguish between fact and speculation and added, "Ramayana is one of the most anticipated films of 2026. Given the scale of the project, casting speculations have been rife, but it is important to separate facts from rumours. Here’s hoping all the speculation regarding Bobby Deol’s involvement is put to rest soon."
Ensemble Cast of Ramayana
Reportedly, the ensemble cast of Ramayana comprises Arun Govil as King Dasharath, Indira Krishnan as Queen Kaushalya, Lara Dutta as Queen Kaikeyi, Amitabh Bachchan as Jatayu, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, Kajal Aggarwal as Queen Mandodari, Mohit Raina as Lord Shiva, Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra, Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjihva, Shobana as Ravana's mother Kaikasi, Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara and Adinath Kothare as Bharat. Moreover, according to earlier reports, Bobby Deol was rumoured to be playing Kumbhakaran, while Vijay Sethupathi might be seen as Vibhishan, Vikrant Massey as Meghnad and Anil Kapoor as King Janak.
However, the makers have yet to confirm the supporting cast. Meanwhile, most of the associated actors, who will be seen in supporting roles, re-shared the teaser of the movie. They have expressed their happiness and appreciation for being a part of the cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic.
While cinephiles have already pinned high hopes on the movie, the stunning visuals have amplified fan expectations, fueling their enthusiasm for the movie with the stellar ensemble cast. Fans certainly can't wait for more updates on Ramayana.
