Ram Charan and Kiara Advani’s Game Changer will hit the theaters on January 10, 2025. Incidentally, the extended cut of Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna’s Pushpa: The Rule was also scheduled to be released around the same time. But somehow now it has been delayed and will be released on January 17. While the makers have not come up with any plausible reasons for this delay, there have been rumours that the delay is because of a secret deal between Ram Charan and Allu Arjun.
For both Ram Charan and Shankar the success of Game Changer is very crucial. The last release Hindustani 2 directed by Shankar had Kamal Haasan in the lead. It was a sequel to the hit movie Hindustani released more than a decade ago. People and both Kamal Haasan and Shankar had high expectations from this movie so much so that the team had even discussed the plot for the third movie for the franchise.
However, Hindustani 2 was a big flop putting a question mark on Shankar’s ability to direct relevant movies according to the change in the taste of the audience. For Ram Charan, Game Changer is an opportunity to achieve stardom in Bollywood as he has now gained pan recognition after the massive success of RRR.
Similar to Jr NTR’s Devara, Game Changer is also aimed at attracting the pan-India audience. But with Allu Arjun ’s Pushpa 2 in the theaters, chances of other movies making a success can be very low. This sequel of Bunny has broken almost all the records in Bollywood and the entire Indian film industry.
The delay in releasing the extended cut of Pushpa: The Rule may benefit Ram Charan’s Game Changer as fans who have already watched Pushpa 2 can show eagerness to watch a new movie. That is why there are strong rumours that the delay in releasing the extended cut of Pushpa 2 is a well planned strategy to give enough scope to Ram Charan’s movie to establish its hold at the box office.
