R Madhavan admits being drunk during iconic 3 Idiots scene with Aamir and Sharman

The timeless classic '3 Idiots' continues to captivate audiences even years after its release. R Madhavan, in a recent appearance on the BeerBiceps podcast, shed light on a memorable scene from the film where the characters Raju, Farhan, and Rancho get drunk.

Contrary to speculation, Madhavan confirmed that Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, and he were indeed intoxicated during the filming of the scene.

Madhavan disclosed that it was Aamir Khan's suggestion to drink alcohol before shooting to ensure authenticity in their portrayal. Khan emphasized the importance of experiencing intoxication firsthand rather than merely simulating it on screen. The plan was to start drinking at 8 pm for a 9 pm shoot, intending to maintain a consistent level of inebriation throughout.

However, unforeseen delays extended the shoot, leading to complications in the actors' alcohol-induced performances. 
Madhavan recounted how the chilly weather in Bengaluru exacerbated the effects of alcohol, causing them to underestimate their inebriation. Despite feeling normal, the actors struggled with delivering their lines promptly, resulting in amusing challenges during filming.

Meanwhile, R Madhavan has been receiving rave reviews for his performance in the recently released movie Shaitaan alongside Ajay Devgn and Jyothika.
