2023's Pathaan became the first blockbuster of the year and scripted multiple box records. The movie also marked Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's entry into YRF Spy Universe. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, the movie also marked John Abraham and Deepika Padukone's entry into the Spy Universe. While SRK's entry was received well, fans showered love on John for his powerful performance as the antagonist Jim. Well, fans who loved John as Jim in Pathaan, there is possibly good news for them! John is likely to reprise his role from Pathaan, but not in Pathaan 2. The makers seem to be planning for a prequel, with a focus on Jim.
John Abraham To Reprise Jim's Character in Pathaan Prequel?
During a recent interview with Hollywood Reporter India, John Abraham dropped a major hint on the possibilities of a prequel to SRK-led Pathaan, which will focus on Jim.

John shared that he didn't wish to act in big franchises unless he found something really ‘fantastic.’
When asked if he meant like Pathaan's Jim, John stated his character as 'cool' and 'special'. Furthermore, he talked about his collaborations with filmmaker Aditya Chopra in movies like Dhoom, New York, Kabul Express, and Pathaan and stated that he (Aditya) got him right.
During the same interview, he further dropped a major hint on the possibility of a solo movie, focused on his character Jim.
He said, “I think he (Adi) gets me right, and hopefully we'll be doing a prequel to Jim before he goes bitter. So that should be happening.”
However, fans have to wait for an official announcement from the makers.
Possible Crossover With Hrithik Roshan's Kabir!
Earlier, during an interview with Pinkvilla, director Anand was asked if there would be a film telling backstory of Jim and how he went against his nation. To this, Anand said, "It should be, but it's too early to talk about anything. I feel Jim's character does warrant a prequel."
Further, when asked if Jim's equation with Hrithik Roshan's Kabir character could be explored in the prequel, Anand said, "Ya, why not? Anything can happen. It's a Universe and you can do anything with the characters, it's a playground. You can have a prequel to Jim, oh wait! What if Jim is not dead? What if there's a harness that pulls the parachute?"
Notably, a source earlier revealed to the entertainment portal that YRF and John have discussed the idea and believe that the character Jim has enough potential to blow big.

However, fans have to wait until the official announcement from the makers about the prequel. Well, if things materialise as per plans, it will be definitely thrilling to watch John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan's crossover.
