The entire nation was heartbroken after Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the gold medal match at the Paris Olympics. She was slated to face USA’s Sarah Hilderbrandt in the women’s 50kg freestyle final.

Unfortunately, Phogat was found 100 grams overweight during the last weigh-in on the day of the summit showdown, leading to her disqualification. Her every effort to drop the weight without sleeping whole night, extracting blood from her body to even cutting down her hair, nothing worked in her favour, leaving the entire country heartbroken.

Every Indian stood by Phogat and showed her their support who later announced her retirement following the heartbreak. Meanwhile, actress Urvashi Rautela shared her thoughts on the 29-year-old wrestler and said that medal did not matter as Vinesh Phogat has already achieved enough by representing India at the Paris Olympics.

“The most important thing is to represent the country. Everyone isn’t lucky enough to do something for their country. I was at the Paris Olympics and in my opinion, to represent the country at the international level in itself is a great achievement,” Urvashi said.

On the professional front, Urvashi is gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie ‘Ghuspaithiya’.

Talking about Vinesh Phogat, the wrestler has become India’s first female to qualify for an Olympic final. She beat Olympic champion Yui Susaki in the first round and later defeated Yusneylis Guzman Lopez in the semi-final.
