The nominations for Oscars 2024 have been announced. As expected, the Christopher Nolan-directorial ‘Oppenheimer’ led the contenders for the 96th Academy Awards with 13 nominations.
Unfortunately, there is nothing for India to cherish. Earlier, there were reports that superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ had been submitted for the Oscars. However, there is no mention of ‘Dunki’ in the nomination list, triggering outrage from King Khan fans.
On the other hand, Emma Stone’s ‘Poor Things’ has got 11 nominations followed by Martin Scorsese drama ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ starring Leondardo Di’Caprio with 10 nominations. Leonardo was however overlooked for Best Actor.
The summer blockbuster ‘Barbie’ earned only eight nominations. Moreover, actress Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig did not receive nominations for their work in ‘Barbie’. However, Ryan Gosling has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor. His song ‘I’m Just Ken’ has also been nominated in the category of Best Original Song.
This year, the Oscar nominations will be held in Los Angeles on March 11 (Early morning of March 11 for India) with Jimmy Kimmel returning as the host. Here’s below the full list of nominees.
