Shweta Bachchan has revealed that recently she and her son Agastya Nanda had a big argument with Navya Naveli Nanda for her comments on the disparity at their home. Earlier in an interview with She The People, Navya had said that usually she is asked by her mother to attend to guests while her brother is never given any responsibility.
She added that in normal Indian homes, especially in joint families, the responsibility of how to run home or take care of guests is inadvertently passed on to the daughter of the family and that is how it is ingrained in the daughters that it is their responsibility to take care of the house.
Now, throwing light on the same during an interview with Barkha Dutta, Shweta said that she and Agastya had an argument with Navya over this statement as Shweta believes that she has never been biased with her children.
According to Shweta, she and Agastya asked Navya how she could say all this about their family as this is not the way their household is run. In the same interview, Navya had accepted that her mother is fair to both her and Agastya, and both of them are asked to help out at their home.
On the other hand, Shweta Bachchan has agreed that she is a bit harder to Navya as compared to Agastya and that her mother-Jaya Bachchan has also said this to her.
Explaining her behavior towards Navya, Shweta said that it is because she believes that things are a bit tough for women, especially Indian women and that it is her mother’s instinct that makes her attitude a bit harder towards Navya.
According to Shweta, she wants to make her daughter Navya Naveli Nanda stronger to face the battles that she may come across in her life.
