Speaking to Times of India, Nagarjuna opened up about playing a part in kickstarting his son's love story with Sobhita. Nagarjuna was responsible for Chay and Sobhita's first meeting.
During the interview, the Kubera actor said that he was impressed by Sobhita’s performance in the 2018 film Goodachari. He called Sobhita after watching the film and invited her over to his house in Hyderabad to have a chat.
TOI quoted Nagarjuna as saying, "I invited her to meet me the next time she was in Hyderabad. She later came home to meet me, and we had some wonderful conversations — not just about films but life in general. Chaitanya happened to walk in during one of her visits, and that’s when they met for the first time if I remember correctly."

Well, as per Nagarjuna, Sobhita is a 'brilliant actress who has stayed true to her values and craft' and has 'carved out a niche for herself in the industry'. Praising his soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Nagarjuna had earlier said that Sobhita is a warm, grounded and lovely girl.
Nagarjuna also mentioned that he has witnessed how happy they (Chay and Sobhita) make each other.

The Bangarraju actor said that Sobhita's parents were particularly keen on having a traditional Telugu ceremony. He also added that Sobhita and Chaitanya decided to take charge of the wedding arrangements themselves.
