Munna Bhai 3 is happening soon! Rajkumar Hirani says,' Seriously wanting to...'

Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi's iconic roles of Murli Prasad Sharma aka Munna Bhai and Circuit from the comedy franchise Munna Bhai are among the most beloved on-screen characters. After the humungous success of Munna Bhai MBBS(2003) and Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006, the reports of Munna Bhai 3, which surfaced a decade ago, thrilled everyone. Even the makers dropped a promo of Munna Bhai Chale America. However, there were no updates on it. But, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani recently dropped an interesting update on Munna Bhai 3.

Recently, at the launch of Screen Magazine, Rajkumar Hirani confirmed that Munna Bhai 3 is on top of his mind. Further, the filmmaker suggested that he would be working on a third instalment of the series with Sanjay Dutt, shortly.

Speaking to the audience during the event, the helmer said, "I am evaluating a couple of scripts and Munna Bhai 3 is one of them. Am seriously wanting to write it now. It is very challenging. I am struggling but attempting to write. Sanju also really wants me to make the third Munna Bhai film."

Further, he added that he is working on five scripts, not just one or two. 

"I've five half-finished scripts for Munna Bhai. I spent six months on a script, reached the interval, and it just won't go beyond that," he added.

Hirani also shared the tentative headlines of the half-written scripts. "There is a Munna Bhai LLB, Munna Bhai Chal Base and Munna Bhai Chale Amreeka and more," he said.

The Dunki helmer said that the most important factor is that the third instalment must be better than the previous film. However, Hirani revealed that he has a unique idea.

Acknowledging that over the 100 years of Indian cinema, everything has been said, Hirani said that he is working with an idea that will be something unique.

He also revealed his greatest fear that drove him to work on Munna Bhai 3.

He said, "I think, Sanju might just come home and threaten me to get done with the next. He really wants to do another Munna Bhai film."

Well, this left the audience in splits.

Be it for their comic timing, Bhaigiri, Doctorgiri or Gandhigiri, both the movies under the franchise with a social message were immensely loved by the audience. While the audience has already got a glimpse of Munna Bhai Chale Amreeka, it would be definitely interesting to see Munna Bhai donning the black cloak and fighting for justice at the court. Well, Munna Bhai Chal Base sounds interesting and disheartening at the same time.
