Munawar Faruqui next target of Lawrence Bishnoi gang! Saved from henchmen before attack: Reports

NCP leader Baba Siddique was gunned down outside his office in Mumbai on Saturday night. Hours after the assassination, a member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder. Now Lawrence Bishnoi's gang is under scrutiny. According to a recent report, comedian Munawar Faruqui is on the hit list of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and was even chased by a henchmen in September.

According to a report in Times Now, Munawar Faruqui had an event scheduled to attend in Delhi in September. He took a flight from Mumbai to Delhi. However, in the same flight, two henchmen of Lawrence Bishnoi gang were present. According to sources, the henchmen also had booked rooms in the same hotel where Faruqui had plans to stay.

However, he was saved with the help of inputs from the intelligence agencies before the attack.

Faruqui was participating in the Entertainers Cricket League 2024 in South Delhi. After receiving a warning of a threat to the comedian from an Intelligence report, Delhi Police acted swiftly at both IGI Indoor Stadium and The Suryaa Hotel. Faruqui was quickly moved from the hotel. Later, Mumbai Police escorted him back to the city. As the threat to his life still persists, police have provided him security.

The alert came to light after police interrogated suspects linked to a recent shooting in greater Kailash-I, which resulted in the murder of businessman Nadir Shah. During interrogation, the suspects revealed that they had been instructed to scout The Suryaa Hotel for a planned murder. While they were initially unaware of the target, the orders later shifted to eliminate Shah, who was killed on Thursday night. While it remains unclear if Shah was intended to be the target at the hotel or not, during further investigation it was learned that Faruqui was also a potential target.

For the unversed, Faruqui triggered controversy after making fun of Hindu Gods and objectionable comments during a standup comedy show.

After Baba Siddique's murder, the agency is trying to dig out the reason; if it is Lawrence Bishnoi's desire to become an underworld don or Siddique's closeness with Salman Khan.
