For decades, Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat and Amitabh Bachchan’s Jalsa have stood as iconic Mumbai landmarks as much for their superstar owners as for their soaring market values. Mannat, overlooking the bustling Bandra Bandstand, and Jalsa, nestled in the heart of Juhu, have been symbols of fame and fortune.
But now, a younger Bollywood power couple has claimed the crown for the city’s most expensive celebrity home.
A Rs 250-Crore Dream Home
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are preparing to move into their newly completed multi-storey residence in Bandra. Built on the site of Raj Kapoor’s legendary Krishna Raj bungalow, the property has undergone years of redevelopment to transform it into a modern, lavish family home. Valued at a staggering Rs 250 crore, the mansion will soon welcome the couple, their daughter Raha, and Ranbir’s mother, veteran actress Neetu Kapoor.
How It Surpassed Mannat and Jalsa
Industry insiders estimate that Jalsa is currently worth around Rs 120 crore, while Mannat, a heritage property in Bandra, was valued at approximately Rs 200 crore over a decade ago. Without recent appraisals, their present values remain uncertain but neither matches the scale of Ranbir and Alia’s new abode, which has now set a new benchmark for luxury in Mumbai’s property market.
Not Quite the National Record
Despite the buzz, the title of India’s most expensive actor-owned property still lies elsewhere. That honour belongs to the Rs 800 crore Pataudi Palace in Haryana, the ancestral estate of actor Saif Ali Khan and his family, a true testament to royal heritage.
