The much-anticipated film adaptation of the popular web series Mirzapur is steadily taking shape, and fans have fresh reasons to be excited. While Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Divyenndu will be reprising their iconic characters, new reports suggest that Ravi Kishan and Jitendra Kumar have officially joined the ensemble.
New Faces in Mirzapur’s Gritty World
According to an exclusive report by Hindustan Times, actor Ravi Kishan, who won the hearts of the audience with his impactful performance in Laapataa Ladies, and Panchayat webseries fame Jitendra Kumar, are officially onboard for Mirzapur: The Film.
Although details about their roles remain tightly under wraps, speculation is rife on whether they will reprise familiar faces from the series or step into brand-new characters crafted for the big screen.
A source close to the project confirmed to HT City, “Jitendra and Ravi Kishan are now a part of the film’s cast. The mahurat puja took place on Thursday, and both actors were present for the celebrations. Their characters are being kept as a surprise for fans.”
The source further added, “Look tests and reading sessions have already begun and will continue over the next few days. Jitendra and Ravi have also joined the pre-production activities. The film is expected to go on floors next month.”
While the Laapataa Ladies star chose not to comment on his involvement in Mirzapur: The Film, the Panchayat actor also remained unavailable for a response.

First announced in 2024, the film adaptation is helmed by creator Puneet Krishna and director Gurmmeet Singh. The movie, slated for a 2026 release, will bring the gritty world of *Mirzapur* to theatres across India before heading to OTT platforms. Along with Fazal, Tripathi, and Divyenndu, Shweta Tripathi Sharma is also expected to reprise her role as Golu.
