The cinematic adaptation of Indian Epic Mahabharat has remained a hot topic for many years. Adapting Mahabharat for the big screen is a long-held dream for acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli and actor-producer Aamir Khan. While both have expressed their passion for the same time and again, Khan recently spilt the beans on kicking off Mahabharat soon. Well, recently eminent screenwriter V Vijayendra Prasad revealed discussions with Aamir Khan and talked about a potential collaboration with his son Rajamouli for Mahabharat.

Aamir Khan Approached Vijayendra Prasad for Mahabharat
Revealing discussions with Aamir Khan for Mahabharat, the Baahubali writer shared that the PK actor approached him with the idea some time ago. However, the outcome remains uncertain.
While talking to PTI, Prasad said, "Some time ago, he (Aamir) came (to me) with an idea to make Mahabharata. I don't know what happened afterwards."
Notably, a few days ago, Aamir opened up about his upcoming production venture, Mahabharat. He also revealed that the mega project will start production this year and it will be shot on a massive scale. Reportedly, he also revealed that multiple directors will be associated with the mega project, which will be shot in multiple parts. As Khan revealed, all the parts will be filmed simultaneously and will be conceived and executed on a grand scale.
Prasad on Potential Collaboration With Son Rajamouli
During the interview, when asked about the possibility of working on Mahabharat with SS Rajamouli, Prasad noted that it had been his son's ultimate ambition to take on the epic.
Sharing a memorable conversation with his son that helped him realise the true richness of India, Prasad said, "One day, my son Rajamouli asked me, 'Father can you tell me which way India is rich?' I was trying to find an answer when he said, 'India is rich in stories'. We have Ramayana and Mahabharata. So, we have to encash. This is our property, out richness. We are blessed with such stories."

According to last media reports, Aamir Khan's Mahabharat doesn't involve SS Rajamouli and Vijayendra Prasad. H owever, fans need to wait for more updates on the mega project if Rajamouli and/or Prasad will be involved in Khan's mega project or the father-son duo will collaborate for another magnum opus.
