The cinematic adaptation of the Indian Epic Mahabharat is a long-standing dream of South Ace Director SS Rajamouli. According to earlier reports, after wrapping up SSMB29 (working title) with Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, Rajamouli had plans to focus on Mahabharat. However, it seems, Rajamouli's dream is materialising without his involvement as Aamir Khan is kicking off Mahabharat soon.

During a recent interview, Khan opened up about his upcoming production venture, Mahabharat. He also revealed that the mega project will start production this year and it will be shot on a massive scale.
Multiple Directors To Work On Mahabharat Simultaneously!
Reportedly, Khan revealed that multiple directors will be associated with the mega project, which will be shot in multiple parts. Further, he stated that all the parts will be filmed simultaneously and will be conceived and executed on a grand scale.
According to the reports, Khan will be producing the multi-level project and casting will be based on the appropriate characters and actors' similarities.
Well, considering the grand scale of the project and Khan's 'Mr Perfectionist' tag, moviegoers can expect some of the finest actors from various regional industries of the country to be a part of the mega project.
