The cinematic adaptation of the Indian Epic Mahabharat is a long-standing dream of South Ace Director SS Rajamouli. According to earlier reports, after wrapping up SSMB29 (working title) with Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, Rajamouli had plans to focus on Mahabharat. However, it seems, Rajamouli's dream is materialising without his involvement as Aamir Khan is kicking off Mahabharat soon.

Earlier, the RRR helmer had stated that he would like to work on a five-part Mahabharat/Mahabharata/Mahabharatam franchise. Moreover, he also stated that the franchise will be his last piece of work and he already has a plan for it. Certainly, fans can't agree more that Rajamouli is the best-suited and equipped director to handle the Indian epic as he has proven his expertise with the Baahubali franchise and RRR. Rajamouli's Dream Materialising Without Rajamouli!
Well, the latest developments suggest that Rajamouli's dream is materialising and it doesn't involve Rajamouli himself.
Fans are well aware that not just Rajamouli, but Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan also has a dream of making Mahabharat. He has multiple times spoken about the cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic.
During a recent interview, Khan opened up about his upcoming production venture, Mahabharat. He also revealed that the mega project will start production this year and it will be shot on a massive scale.
Multiple Directors To Work On Mahabharat Simultaneously!
Reportedly, Khan revealed that multiple directors will be associated with the mega project, which will be shot in multiple parts. Further, he stated that all the parts will be filmed simultaneously and will be conceived and executed on a grand scale.
According to the reports, Khan will be producing the multi-level project and casting will be based on the appropriate characters and actors' similarities.
Well, considering the grand scale of the project and Khan's 'Mr Perfectionist' tag, moviegoers can expect some of the finest actors from various regional industries of the country to be a part of the mega project.
