News Highlights

  • Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday's movie Liger have hit the theaters.
  • The movie until now has received a very low response despite aggressive promotions.

Liger starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday has finally hit the theaters. The Tollywood superstar, who is making a debut in Bollywood with this movie, is expecting Liger to be a big hit. But the reviews that have followed the release are very much negative with many portals declaring it to be a big flop. And this seems to have also affected the footfall of the audience in the theaters. The seat occupancy in prominent theaters across the country and in Odisha’s capital city of Bhubaneshwar for Liger has been very low.

Liger Advance Booking on Aug 26 at Keshari Theatre

The scenario is such that tickets in all the theaters of Bhubaneshwar for Liger are easily available, and if the trend continues most of the shows will get canceled and the screens will also have to be reduced. Vijay Deverakonda’s transformation as the boxer has been welcomed by his fans, but both the storyline, direction, and even the presence of Ananya Panday as the female lead has been given thumbs down by the few people who watched Liger in theaters.

Most of the netizens have tweeted that the film is a disaster whereas die-hard Deverakonda fans have urged their heartthrob not to do such movies in the future. From slamming the director Puri Jagannadh for a bad storyline to questioning the Khaali Peeli actress for her acting, tweeples have just made their strong dislike for the movie quite evident.

While Liger is a bilingual movie that was also released simultaneously in Telugu, it was more of a launch vehicle for the Geetha Govindam actor in Bollywood. With most of the big movies from the B-town slumping at the box office, if the same trend of negative reviews continues for Liger this Vijay Deverakonda movie can emerge as one of the biggest flops for the Tollywood actor.
