Why is Arjun’s nickname Fubu?
Arjun Kapoor was highly overweight before he ventured into Bollywood. The actor was 140 kg and had to lose 50 kg of weight for his debut movie Ishaqzaade.
Since he was highly overweight, he required plus-sized clothes all the time. Fubu is the name of an international brand for plus-size clothes and that is how his close people started calling him by that name.
Fought depression after mother’s death
Arjun was a typical momma’s boy and after his father Boney Kapoor divorced his mother Mona Shourie to marry Bollywood superstar Sridevi, he became very close and protective towards her. So when she died due to cancer just sometime before the release of Arjun’s debut movie, the actor was devastated and had to fight depression.
Arjun was tutored by Salman Khan
The Dabangg superstar tutored both Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan so that they are better prepared when they make their Bollywood debuts as actors. Both Arjun and Varun were constantly on the sets of Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya and reportedly even played pranks with Katrina Kaif, the leading lady of the film. In those days, Arjun reportedly was in a relationship with Salman’s sister Arpita Khan.
