Reports initially indicated that the third chapter would delve into the period of 1978-1981, portraying Rocky Bhai as the most wanted gangster by the CIA.
Producer Vijay Kiragandur initially set October 2022 to start the filming for KGF-3, but Yash expressed a desire for a different project before reprising his iconic role.
Recent updates suggest that KGF: Chapter 3 remains in the pipeline, though director Prashanth Neel is uncertain about helming the project. In an interview with Pinkvilla during the promotions of Salaar: Ceasefire, the first part of Prabhas-led Salaar, Prashanth mentioned that a script is ready for KGF-3, allowing the team to announce it confidently.

Although Prashanth denies Salaar being an updated Ugramm, his debut film, audiences speculate from the trailer that Salaar is a refined version, labelled by some as Ugramm 2.0.
