Yash’s KGF 2 was earlier scheduled to release on 16th July 2021. However, due to the second wave of the Coronavirus, shooting and other related works had to be paused. While Prashanth Neel and the team have already started wrapping up the pending work, it is most unlikely that the film’s post-production work will be completed by the earlier scheduled release date.
That is why the makers are planning to shift the release to a later date. According to the latest reports, KGF 2 will be released on 9th September this year. While there is no official confirmation from either the producer or the director himself, the buzz is strong that the sequel will release on this date. However, even this release date is not 100% confirmed as a lot will depend on one factor that has already delayed releases of all the top movies.
Reportedly, Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 will release in September only if there is no third wave of Corona. The country was badly hit by the second wave of the Coronavirus and if the third wave hits the country then the sequel will be postponed further as Prashanth Neel has made it quite clear earlier that they will not release the movie on the OTT platform.
It is a big-budget and one of the most awaited movies in India and is being made in multiple languages including Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The sequel will be released worldwide and a lot of investment is at stake. The movie will have to face losses if it is released across India in the current scenario as only 50% theater capacity is currently being allowed. That is why the decision will be taken on how things turn out in the next couple of months.
It is believed that both Prashanth Neel and Hombale Films which is producing KGF 2 want to keep things ready and will make the decision regarding its release whenever they think that the time is appropriate.
