Kareena Kapoor Khan turns a year older today. Despite being a star kid, the journey of Bebo, who created a storm with her glamorous look and memorable performances like Poo in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham or Geet in Jab We Met, has not been easy.
While being a sister of Karisma Kapoor (who was ruling the roost in the 90s) made it easier to get her debut flick Refugee with Abhishek Bachchan, she did not get success immediately. Be it the strings of flops, controversies caused due to her outspokenness, or owing to catfights, she has always been in the news.
All these negative elements could not stop Kareena-the ultimate diva from ruling the hearts of the young audience and she continues to do so even today.
Bebo’s outburst on nepotism did affect Laal Singh Chaddha’s performance
The recent controversy was triggered when the Aitraaz actress got candid on the nepotism debate. During an interview, she made a very arrogant statement saying that if people do not want to watch her movies just because she is a star kid, they should not watch them. And it somehow did affect the performance of her recent movie Laal Singh Chaddha which failed to make an impact at the box office.
Interestingly, after the debacle of this Aamir Khan-led film, she even requested publicly to the audience that LSC is a good movie and they should go to the theaters to watch the film.
Priyanka-Kareena catfight
While Bebo and PeeCee are now on good terms and have even appeared together on one of the episodes of Koffee With Karan, all was not well between the two leading actresses almost a decade ago. Interestingly, both of them dated Shahid Kapoor at different points in time. There was a sort of negativity between the two with Kareena taking a jibe at Priyanka for her accent and the latter taking the catfight forward with her nasty comment.
She also had a fight with Bipasha Basu during the shooting of Ajnabee and called the Bong beauty Kali Billi.
The name of her kids has also triggered controversy
When Saifeena decided to name their firstborn son Taimur Ali Khan, there was a lot of uproar on social media with most Indian users slamming the couple for naming their son after an invader who killed hundreds of Indians during his reign. They were also slammed for naming their second son Jeh aka Jehangir Ali Khan after the king of the Mughal dynasty.
Nevertheless, the paparazzi continues to follow Kareena every day. Moreover, her kids are covered by the paps regularly and are one of the most followed Bollywood star kids.
