Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan were supposed to work in an epic war film together. Ekta Kapoor was also a part of this mega-film as co-producer announced last year. However, there is a buzz now that the Dharma boss has shelved this war movie. It is a big shock for Koki fans who were expecting their favorite actor to become a huge superstar with the backing of Dharma Productions. Sandeep Modi was supposed to direct this film and it was expected to go on the floors around October 2024.
Kartik’s dream of working with Dharma thus has been busted a second time. Previously, he was signed for Dostana 2 but due to some major differences between Kartik and Karan, the project was dropped. While the Dostana sequel was dropped because of issues with the actor and the producer, the epic war movie has been shelved because according to Bollywood Hungama, “There is an overdose of patriotic films set against the backdrop of wars. Karan has identified the market trends after Yoddha and has decided to put Sandeep Modi and Kartik Aaryan's next on hold."
Apart from this film, Karan Johar has also put Bull with Salman Khan on the backburner. Vishnu Vardhan was roped in to direct this mega movie and Karan was very much keen to work with Salman after more than two decades. The Dabangg actor worked with Karan Johar in his debut movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in which the Bollywood superstar made a cameo.
Over the years Karan produced and directed many movies but he could not come up with a project to collaborate with Salman Khan. The famous director-producer is next working on new projects and will soon announce new movies that will match the current trends. His last release Bad Newz received a decent opening and stars Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk in the lead.
