The post-production work for Kalki 2898 AD is now underway as the team gears up to promote this big-budget scientific thriller soon. Directed by the National Award-winning director Nag Ashwin, fans have high expectations from this flick as some big names from Bollywood like Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan will be sharing the screen with Prabhas for the first time. Similarly, Disha Patani also has some romance and dance sequences with the Rebel star.
The team will kick start its promotions from May 22 onwards from Ramoji Film City by introducing Bujji which is the super-robot futuristic vehicle of Prabhas aka Bhirava in the movie. Kalki 2898 AD team gave a short glimpse of the robot and also a view of its making with a video clip. Today’s promotions are expected to take the hype for this movie further.
There are strong speculations that Kalki 2898 AD will end in a twist with a scope for a sequel. Whether there will be a second part or not will depend on how well the movie does at the box office. Since it is a very high-budget movie that has gone over 600 crores, its performance in the theaters will be the deciding factor whether the producers can think of coming up with a second installment.
Kamal Haasan’s 20-minute cameo
Prabhas has always maintained that he is a big fan of Kamal Haasan and has always been eager to share screen space with him. And with this movie, this desire of Prabhas is coming true as the Indian actor is playing the lead antagonist in Kalki 2898 AD. Reports indicate that Kamal Haasan will be making a guest appearance of around 20 minutes in the first part of Kalki 2898 AD and will have an elaborate 90-minute showdown with Prabha in the sequel.
So most of the reports confirm that a sequel is in the pipeline for Kalki 2898 AD. Coming back to today’s first promotional event, it will be hosted by young sensation Teja Sajja while Prabhas will make an entry with Bujja and for that special arrangements are being made at the lavish event. The movie will be released in theaters globally on June 27 this year.
