Mrs.: A Patriarchal Tale
The first OTT release on Jio Studios’ list is Mrs., starring Sanya Malhotra. This film, a retelling of the Malayalam movie The Great Indian Kitchen, tells the story of a newlywed woman grappling with the oppressive patriarchal traditions of society. Alongside Malhotra, the movie features Nishant Dahiya and Kanwaljit Singh in key roles. The film has sparked a significant debate online regarding patriarchal values.
