The Goan beauty has been in movies for around 15 years and has enjoyed a good career in South movies. While she made a smashing debut with Barfi in Bollywood opposite biggies like Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, Ileana is yet to enjoy the same success in the Hindi film world that she enjoyed down South.
Recently the Amar Akbar Anthony fame star opened up about the brutality of being in the movie business. The actress said, “Everything comes down to people and, as an artist, one just wants the audience to like watching you. The actress explains popularity is the one thing that balances the fact that the film industry can be a very cruel place to survive.”

She further added, “The film industry is brutal, but it comes down to people. If the people like you that is all you need. You just want the people to like watching you.”
The bold and beautiful actress has gone through a rough patch in the last couple of years, both in her personal and professional life. While her movies like Pagalpanti tanked at the box-office and did not do expected business, her split with longtime fiancé Andrew Kneebone also was a tumultuous experience for her.
However, Ileana D’Cruz has accepted these setbacks openly as she understands the difficulties of being an actor and sustaining in this industry. She recently said, “It goes the same for me. I wouldn't want to watch a film with an actor I don't like watching. The minute you are not liked anymore you sort of losing the mark. The industry is brutal in a sense, but it has got so many perks as well.”
Despite all the recent setbacks, Ileana D’Cruz has not given up and is ready to prove herself. She said, "You cannot have all the good things only, there are always a little bit of con. I think that makes it interesting. It makes you work harder. It makes you strive to keep doing better."
