Iconic writer-duo comprising Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar have penned down several iconic Bollywood movies. Even several actors became superstars with the scripts including the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. To name a few, Zanjeer, Deewar, Sholay, Trishul, Don, Kaala Patthar, Dostana and Shaan are considered some of the iconic movies written by the iconic writers duo. Apart from the engaging storyline, the memorable dialogues still are cherished.
Salim-Javed is credited with creating a revolution in the Hindi film industry and transforming the moviemaking format. Their collaboration continued for over a decade. But, the duo parted ways after working on 24 movies. However, recently during the trailer launch event of Angry Young Men, Javed Akhtar hinted at a possible collaboration for one more film.
On August 13, the trailer of the documentary series 'Angry Young Men' was released in the presence of the iconic writer duo and their children including Salman Khan, and Farhan Akhtar.
At the event, both Salim and Javed talked about several lesser-known tales of the duo. Well, it's been four decades since the duo teamed up for a project. However, at the trailer launch, Javed Akhtar hinted that they might team up for another film. But, he mentioned that the prices would be higher than before.
Javed said, "We are going to write now. I have spoken to Salim, ek picture hum aur likh de. (We will write one more film).
Further, he added, "Uss zamane mein bhi humari price zyada thi, iss zamane mein toh bohot hi zyada hogi. Woh dekh lijiyega. (Even back then, our price was high, and in today's time, it will be even higher. Just see about that).
Well, Javed Akhtar might have made the statement humorously as moviegoers are anticipating to see one last movie penned by the iconic writers-duo, but this has certainly filled excitement among all.

Notably, Salim-Javed wrote 24 films together of which 22 are blockbusters. Salim and Javed were the first writers to achieve a star status. However, they drifted apart after that and have never worked again. Earlier, during an interview, Javed speaking about why they parted ways, said, "Two people can work together as long as the mental rapport is there. The moment it breaks, you can't work together."
Further, he added, "Two people naturally drift apart when they become successful and more people enter their lives."
However, he cleared that there was never a fight between them or even a tussle for credit or money.
