Basking in the success of his recent aerial action thriller, ‘Fighter,’ alongside Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan is gearing up for the much-anticipated ‘War 2.’
In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, the actor shared insights into his iconic character Kabir, promising a more entertaining and fun portrayal this time.
"Kabir has definitely left a mark. And getting into Kabir’s boots is going to be fun because this time, my challenge is to show Kabir in a different light. A different aspect of him which is going to be interesting,” expressed the Fighter actor when asked about the darker take on Kabir in War 2.
War 2 is the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, following the success of previous films like Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), War (2019), Pathaan (2022), and Tiger 3 (2023). Continuing the storyline from Tiger 3, War 2 will lead to the highly-anticipated showdown between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Tiger v/s Pathaan.’
Set to feature Jr NTR as the antagonist, War 2 will see Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as Kabir. Filming is scheduled to commence in February 2024, as per a report by Pinkvilla in December.
As audience showers love on ‘Fighter,’ director Siddharth Anand reveals plans for its sequel. He stated, “Yeah, that audience will decide. Abhi dekhte hain abhi 3 hi din hue hain (We’ll see. It’s been just three days since the film release). I think audience ka pyaar (love) will decide what we will do, and we would love to make Fighter 2 a larger story. We have some great ideas that we want to put it down to.”
