Gangubai Kathiawadi is all set to hit the theatres today. Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have done a good job promoting this flick almost on all platforms. Last week it was screened for the first time at the Berlinale Film Festival and surprisingly received rave reviews. Topmost media houses and critics have hailed this biopic on one of the lady mafia dons of India who lived in Kamathipura.

The movie has also been in the news because the heirs of real Gangubai wanted to stop the release of the movie saying that the character of Gangu has been portrayed wrongly in this movie. While the cases against the movie have been dismissed, reportedly Supreme Court has suggested that the name of the movie should be changed.
