Gangs of Wasseypur 3! Nawazuddin Siddiqui says, 'Without Anurag Kashyap, Faizal Khan'

Gangs of Wasseypur- Part 1 and Part 2 are critically acclaimed series of Indian crime drama films written and directed by Anurag Kashyap. The franchise is known for its gritty storytelling and realistic portrayal of the coal mafia-ridden Wasseypur, Dhanbad in Bihar (currently in Jharkhand).

For years, fans have been speculating whether a third instalment of Gangs of Wasseypur will ever happen. Well, recently, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui who played the iconic role of Fiazal Khanz spilled the beans on the long-awaited third part of the franchise. However, what is shocking is the third instalment may happen without Anurag Kashyap and Faizal Khan.

During a recent conversation with Mid-Day, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was asked if the rumours surrounding Kashyap received offers to make a third instalment of Gangs of Wasseypur.

To this, Siddiqui quickly replied, "Anurag won’t make it. Neither will I act in it."

The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor stated that he frequently receives similar offers, with people even suggesting making a film solely centred around his character, Faizal Khan.

Notably, earlier during a conversation with Lallantop, Kashyap addressed the speculations surrounding a potential third part of Gangs of Wasseypur and said that he had no intention of creating a Wasseypur Universe and he is not interested in following the trend.

Dismissing the rumours, Kashyap further stated that he wanted to focus on telling different stories as a director. However, he humorously added that he would only consider making Gangs of Wasseypur if he is left with no options, and he would announce the film to earn money for his treatment.

For the unversed, earlier in March, Kashyap confirmed quitting Bollywood because of the growing toxicity Hindi film industry. Though he didn't disclose the exact city he moved to from Mumbai, reports suggest that he shifted to Bengaluru.
